THEORY ONLINE

In order to constantly improve our teaching quality and service, We would like to introduce to you our uniquely developed THEORY ONLINE programme.

WHY MUSIC THEORY?
Music theory teaches students a deeper understanding of music (its construction and fundamental material or 'how' music is created) and forms the foundation for excellent musicianship. Having a good understanding of Music Theory enable students to become CREATIVE musicians and empowers students with skills and knowledge to COMPOSE, ARRANGE and ANALYZE music independently and confidently.  Even recording artists need sound music theory knowledge to make great recording decisions. At Semitonis Online Ltd we believe Music Performance and Theory are inseparable partners. That is why we partner with ABRSM (Associate Board of the Royal Schools of Music) which shares our philosophy. It is great that your child has chosen to learn an instrument. However, extending students' music theory knowledge will empower them to become CREATORS of music rather than mere CONSUMERS of music. Here I am speaking of composing your own music, recording it or arranging music. As a performer learning a new piece of music requires a lot of analytical, aka decision-making, skills which develop from music theory practice (paying attention to the detail in music).
